Margaret West Announces Retirement
Margaret West, Chief Executive Officer at Magnolia Regional Medical Center, has announced her retirement after 30 years of service. Her final day will be December 2, 2016.
“It has been an amazing thirty years, and I am so thankful for the opportunities I have been given. I have worked with many wonderful people that I will always hold dear to my heart,” stated West.
West joined MRMC in 1986 as a Registered Dietitian serving as the nutrition services director. She served in numerous leadership roles, including a promotion to Chief Ancillary Officer in 1998, before being named CEO in June 2009. Under her leadership, MRMC has experienced success in numerous projects, including the completion of the current facility, the implementation of the electronic medical records system, the facility-wide Spirit of Excellence campaign, and the relocation of the UAMS-South residency program to Magnolia.
Molly Burns, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, stated, “Magnolia Regional Medical Center has been very fortunate to have Margaret care about the community of our hospital. She has accomplished a great deal during her tenure as CEO, and she will be missed by all.”
West will continue to work in full capacity as CEO until her departure in December. The Board of Commissioners will begin a search for candidates to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer.
