Physician talks about his practice in Magnolia


Dr. Ked Davis didn't always want to go into medicine, but he's happy that that is the path he ended up following. Davis was recently voted "Magnolia's Favorite Physician" in a contest that brought in 1,650 votes from local patients. He will also receive a commemorative brick in the Magnolia Regional Medical Center's Terrace of Honor.

Keeping Up With the Changes: Julie Gunnels


Julie Gunnels is an Emerson native and graduate of Emerson High School. Her husband is a welder and machinist at Red Dog Oil Tools, Inc., and they have three children in the Emerson schools. She is a 1997 graduate of Southern Arkansas University's nursing program and has been at work at Magnolia Regional Medical Center ever since.

MRMC Participates in Rose Parade Float


In appreciation of Arkansas hospitals’ support of organ, eye and tissue donation, staff of the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA) will present complimentary roses to hospital CEOs from across Arkansas. The CEOs will then personalize each rose in honor of Arkansans who became donors in 2014. These roses, along with thousands of handwritten rose dedications from across the country will be placed in the Donate Life float's Dedication Garden for the world to see.



On April 2 the public will be able to give online from smartphones, tablets or personal computers by going to, choosing the MRMC Foundation and making a credit card donation. In addition to the value of their gift, ArkansasGives donors will help the MRMC Foundation receive a portion of the bonus dollars and help them compete for additional cash prizes that will be awarded to the organizations that raise the most individual donations and most total dollars in several categories.

MRMC Receives Stroke Care Award


The Arkansas Department of Health has recognized 28 hospitals, including Magnolia Regional Medical Center, with awards for stroke care performance. The awards reflect documentation of incidents made through the Arkansas Stroke Registry (ASR) between July 2013 and June 2014. The awards were given to hospitals meeting 90 percent or more of the stroke care performance measures, with at least six stroke patients treated between July 2013 and June 2014.

Surgeon to Display at Art Exhibit


Dr. Moises Menendez is a man of many talents. Not only does he work as a surgeon for Magnolia Regional Medical Center but in his free time he is an accomplished and passionate artist who is to have the first solo art exhibition at Magnolia Arts Center.

Magnolia Regional Medical Center Pushes Patient Health Information to Statewide HIE


Using SHARE, an outside physician referring a patient to MRMC can immediately transfer the patient’s electronic medical history to MRMC, reducing redundancy and cost of treatment and improving patient care coordination. MRMC will push its patients’ admission, discharge and transfer information, lab results and X-ray reports from its electronic health record system to SHARE for outside providers caring for MRMC patients to access as needed.

MRMC Delivers Record 300+ Babies


In the past year, Magnolia Regional Medical Center has seen a tremendous growth in the Labor & Delivery Department. Monthly birth rates are almost double those of a year ago, and the numbers continue to grow.

Newest Surgeon Offers High Praise for MRMC


Buchanan comes to Magnolia from Georgia, where he had practiced for around 21 years. He was raised in Blossom, Texas, did his undergraduate work at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, went to medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas and did general surgery residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, N.C.
