Employment Information

In accordance with Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and their implementing regulations, Magnolia Regional Medical Center will directly or through contractual or other arrangements admit and treat all persons without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex or national origin in its provision of services and benefits, including assignments or transfers within the facility and referrals to or from the facility. Employment at Magnolia Regional Medical Center is at will.  This means that either the employee or the Hospital may terminate the employment relationship for any reason, with or without cause or notice.  Nothing contained in the Handbook, nor any statements contrary to this at will policy, are valid.  No one, other than the CEO/Administrator of Magnolia Regional Medical Center, has the authority to modify this policy.

Applications for employment, with the exception of professional personnel, will be taken through the Employment Security Division.  Professional personnel will submit written application to the Human Resources Department.  In addition to the usual personal vital statistics, each applicant will present the complete details of education, work history, and experience as well as other qualifications that must be considered such as evidence of good health, etc.

All applicants are required to have a tuberculin (TB) skin test within the first 10 days of hire.  New employees will be screened by the Employee Health Nurse to determine the need for the following vaccines: MMR, Varicella (Chickenpox), and Hepatitis B.  Upon determination of need by the Employee Health Nurse, the vaccines will be provided at no cost to the employee.

Annually, the hospital provides the employee tuberculin (TB) skin tests, influenza (flu) inoculations and other inoculations as unusual situations arise

An orientation program for all new employees is scheduled at least bimonthly.  It is required that all new employees attend these orientation programs, within the first 90 days of employment.  The orientation program reviews general policies, rules, and regulations of the hospital, employee information handbook as well as fire safety, and disaster manuals, paging codes, key personnel and departments, Medical Staff and Board of Commissioners, infection control, personnel policies, organization structure of the hospital and any other mandatory programs.  An acknowledgment card will be signed during orientation and left with the Human Resources Department.
