Mammography
The Genius™ 3D Mammography™ Exam
At Magnolia Regional Medical Center, we are proud to offer the Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam that provides better, earlier breast cancer detection for our patients.1-6 Genius™ exams are more accurate than conventional 2D mammograms, detecting 20-65% more invasive breast cancers.7 The Genius™ exam also provides greater peace of mind by reducing the chance of unnecessary callbacks.2,3 The Genius™ exam also reduces callbacks by up to 40% compared to 2D alone.2,5
The Genius™ Exam and Breast Density
Dense breast tissue can make it difficult for doctors to detect breast cancer during annual screenings, which is concerning since women with dense breasts are more likely to develop breast cancer. Studies show that the Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam has greater accuracy than 2D mammography for women across a variety of ages and breast densities. It is the only mammogram that is FDA-approved as superior for women with dense breasts compared to 2D alone.1,2 This is good news for patients, as nearly fifty percent of women between the ages of 40 and 74 have dense breasts.8,9
Some Important Reasons To Get A Mammogram
-
- Finding breast cancer early can save your life. As you get older, your risk for breast cancer increases. More than 3 out of 4 of all breast cancers occur in women age 50 or older.
- Most women diagnosed with breast cancer have no history of it in their families.
- Finding breast cancer early often means less surgery.
- Getting a mammogram is easier than you think.
- Having a mammogram once a year helps give you peace of mind.
If you are an Arkansas resident aged 40-64, you may qualify for a free mammogram. Visit ARBreastCare.com for more information.

CT Calcium Scoring
Cardiac Scoring, also known as Heart Scan or Calcium Score, is a non-invasive CT scan of the heart. It calculates your risk of developing Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) by measuring the amount of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. The CT Calcium Scoring uses low-dose radiation and takes approximately ten minutes. The visit includes a calcium scoring scan, fasting glucose test, lipid profile assessment, and a radiologist interpretation. CT Calcium Scoring is recommended for men aged 35-70 or women aged 40-70 who have a family history of heart disease or who currently smoke, have diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or obesity.

Accreditation is important
Our Center has been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care since June 2015. Accreditation involves a review of the quality of care, staff and physician training, the facility, and patient safety measures. It is a prestige that only the best quality centers achieve. Most insurance companies require accreditation, and the accreditation process of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care remains the most comprehensive and stringent.
